I am 61 years old.

I have lived at Pukehina Beach for the last 12 years.

I was widowed 3 years ago when my wife Sherry died suddenly and unexpectedly.

For many years I was the Managing Director of a significant Multi National company with operations in Australia, NZ, Malaysia, South Africa, Japan and China.

I have lived and worked across the globe – NZ, Australia, USA, Chile, The Middle East, UK, Italy, South Africa, China, Japan and South East Asia.

I have a broad range of corporate business skills and through a life time of experience in diverse markets and multi cultures I have well developed life skills.

For the last 10 years I have been actively involved in Economic Development across the Te Puke region. I have been the face of the push to kick start the Rangiuru Business Park. I have been a member of the Smart Growth Strategic Partners Forum. I have delivered a range of initiatives to support and grow local business and community. My work in this sector has given me a broad understanding of local government. I have made numerous submissions to Central, Regional & Local Government. I have developed a broad range of relationships with Large, Medium and Small business. I have built strong relationships with Community interest groups. I have developed working relationships with Industry bodies and Government officials including Cabinet Ministers, MP’s, Mayors, Councillors, Chief Executives, Senior and Middle Managers.

I have chaired a local School Board.

I have chaired a local Rugby Club.

I have been a Director of Bay of Plenty Cricket.

I am currently the Chair of Hohepa, a nationally significant Intellectual Disability service provider, founded by Sir Lewis Harris in 1957. Hohepa has a school, a dairy farm, large scale vegetable growing, a milk bottling facility, a cheese making facility, a native tree seedling nursery, creative workshops and homes for more than 300 intellectually disabled people supported by 900 staff.

I am formally trained in Business Management and Governance. I am energetic and highly motivated to make a contribution to my community. I have the skills and proven track record to lead the council. I am focused on excellence and progress.
